New Research Reveals the Hazards of a Southern Dietary Pattern

According to recently published research in the journal Circulation, Shikany and colleagues sought to find out if the risk of acute coronary heart disease (CHD) was associated with dietary patterns. The Reasons for Geographic and Racial Differences in Stroke (REGARDS) trial data base (n=17,418) was used.  Subjects were enrolled in this national, population-based trial that was conducted in both white and black adults between 2003 and 2007.
